Much to the dismay of 14-year-old boys everywhere, Victoria’s Secret catalogues will soon become a thing of the past.
L Brands CEO Les Wexner announced today that the store’s signature approach to paper advertising is getting nixed as a swath of changes are made to the company.
The decision comes after testing indicated that eliminating the catalogues had little to no effect on sales.
Some estimates put the cost of producing the catalogue at a whopping $150 million a year, making the decision to drop it a no-brainer.
Another big change: Victoria’s Secret will no longer sell swimwear.
The goal seems to be to hone in on a slimmer vision for the company, but the full impact of the changes remain to be seen.
