Kayakers get new launch point on the Olentangy

Columbus kayakers rejoice! A new launching ground to the Olentangy River is slated to be built this summer, the fifth such access point on the river.

The new location is an empty lot near the intersection of King Avenue and Olentangy River Road.

Running from the pedestrian bridge just south of Antrim Lake to the confluence with the Scioto River, the Olentangy Water Trail is getting increased usage as the summer arrives.

According to a City Council document, public interest is pushing construction of the new access point.
