New Tanger Outlets mall hosts grand opening today

The new outlet mall located at 400 Wilson Road in Sunbury is hosting its grand opening today, complete with family entertainment and TV personalities.

Starting at 9 a.m. shoppers can browse over 75 brands, including The North Face, Under Armour, Victoria’s Secret, Calvin Klein, Nike and Francesca’s (full store list here).

At noon today, Drew and Jonathan Scott from the HGTV show Property Brothers will give a presentation on design, and will host a meet and greet afterwards.

All weekend you can expect family entertainment, like free ferris wheel rides, fair games and crafts.

Saturday is dubbed “Superhero Saturday,” where performers from Marvel Live! will put on two live shows and host meet and greets afterwards. Saturday night ends with a fireworks show.

More than 10,000 people are expected to turn out opening weekend, so expect traffic delays along I-71 North.

5/31/16: Opening date, store list released for Tanger Outlets

After over two years of anticipation, more than 75 new stores are opening their doors this summer at the new Tanger Outlets mall located just off I-71 near Sunbury on 400 Wilson Road, 43074.

Due for a grand opening on June 24, some of the mall’s brands include The North Face, Under Armour, Victoria’s Secret, Calvin Klein, Nike and Francesca’s.

The huge 56-acre center reportedly cost Tanger CEO Steve Tanger and developer Simon Property Group about $110 million.

Though details haven’t been released, you can expect special events and festivities during the opening weekend.
