This weekend: The polar vortex returns!

This weekend: The polar vortex returns!

No, it’s not a 1950’s B-movie, it’s the weather in 2016.

After a strangely warm couple of days back in December that saw Ohioans taking walks by the lake on Christmas Eve, the weather is rebounding the other way with a vengeance, taking an extreme and chilly turn.

Expect to feel winds of up to 25 mph, temperatures dipping as low as -10 (or -20 with the wind chill), and a few inches of snow for some icing on the cake.

The past few years have been filled with weird weather, from July’s 19 consecutive days of rain to record highs in the middle of winter.

It’s easy to play off the climate science, shrug and say, “Ohio weather, am I right?” But if trends like this continue, weird will be the new normal before long.
