We Planned Your Weekend So You Didn’t Have To — You’re Welcome…

Just in case you haven’t made any plans yet, we’ve got the perfect weekend battle strategy, complete with cartoons, shopping, and the circus so you can take your kids and pretend it’s for them when really you’re just super jazzed about those light up sticks you get to wave at a circus.

Ringling Brothers Circus – Schottenstein Center 10.14 – 10.16

Studies have shown that the public display of performing elephants contributes to heightened public awareness of the animals themselves and of our responsibility for their wellbeing and protections, THis is also true for performing clowns. Too many times a year have red nosed weirdos hanging out on playgrounds ruined clowning for professionals — the magicians and the slapstick specialists, the ones who genuinely love to warm up a crowd. So go to the circus and support your local clown — they have had a rough year.

For those that aren’t down with the Circus, and instead think the entire enterprise is cruel to animals, you can also attend the protest. So there’s something for everyone at the Schott tonight.

Admission $14- $81

Holiday Bazaar for a Cure – 7800 Refugee Rd, NW Pickerington – 10.15 – 9AM – 3PM

Holiday shopping can be hell, we all know this. *shakes fist at Santa Claus* Well, fortunately, it doesn’t all have to be long lines and first fights on aisle three at your local Target. This year, the American Cancer Society is hosting 50 plus vendors in Pickerington, all selling a vast variety of holiday goodies. So come out and shop with a squeaky conscience. Who knew that getting eccentric Uncle Ricky a coffee mug would benefit such a good cause?

If you’ve ever read Charles Burn’s visceral classic, Black Hole, you already know that comic books aren’t just for kids. This three day festival celebrates that inner comic nerd in all of us, inviting comic legends from all over the world to give lectures, sell prints, and sign autographs. The event will be scattered across the city throughout the weekend, ranging from movie showings at the Wexner Center, to lectures at the Billy Ireland Cartoon Museum, to events held at the Columbus Museum of Art.

Well there you go, you’re welcome. Have fun this weekend.
