Work is a drag and Spotify can only spice it up so much. Here are a few of the best shows happening this weekend in our fine city. Who will you be seeing?

Buckeye Blackout Concert

Friday, April 7

|Newport Music Hall, Free-$5

To the untrained eye, this may appear to be a show aimed at getting a bunch of OSU fans really wasted. In reality, this is an event put on by a student organization at Ohio State that advocates for sustainable living through the arts, especially music. There is a whole bill of Ohio artists slated to play including Zoo Trippin’ and Fortune Orange. The only catch is you have to unplug all appliances and turn off your lights so you can help black out Columbus.

Hipo Campus

Thursday, April 6

|Newport Music Hall, $17-20

Fellow Midwest Staters from Minnesota, the guys from Hippo Campus have returned to Columbus and will be commandeering Newport Music Hall this Thursday. They are touring on their new album, “Landmark,” that hit shelves in February.
