Golf carts are no longer just for senior citizen golfers. Now, they’re your free mode of transportation around the downtown area. It’s called FreeRide and no, it’s not a joke.
These golf carts are fully street-legal, open-air vehicles that fit up to six people. Drivers will take you short distances (3-5 minutes) at no cost, though tips are encouraged. Five dollars is a small price to pay for preserving your pride that would be toast if you tried to parallel park downtown on your lunch break.
FreeRide operates seven days a week with hours spanning the entire day. If you’d like a cruise in a golf cart, just hail one like you would a taxi.
Another option for free rides is Hopper.
