See what you missed at Tom Petty + Joe Walsh last night
By: Devan LeMaster
This American Girl had the experience of a lifetime getting to see my all time favorite rock band. It was not a hard debate between watching the third NBA finals games for the Cleveland Cavaliers and seeing Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers with special guest Joe Walsh. Last night at the sold out show at the Schottenstein Center was jamming.
Joe Walsh’s whole set was awesome and his light show was mesmerizing, but there was something extra special to me about his performance of “Life’s Been Good” Maybe it was because the whole arena was singing along or maybe it was his ability to play the guitar with his mouth, I’m not sure.
Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers were everything I could’ve dreamed of. It was a magical experience, this is coming from a person that has easily attended over sixty live concerts from Dave Matthews Band, Lumineers and Eric Church among many, many others. They played most of their greatest hits along with a spot on political number ‘Forgotten Man’ from their most recent album.
You could feel the electric in the air for every single song. Closing my eyes and reliving the entire show last night gives me goose bumps. If you are a fan of either artist and their bands, I strongly recommend you get tickets to TPHB 40th Anniversary Tour’s next Ohio stop in Cleveland this Saturday, June 10th.
