Columbus lacrosse programs getting recognition—finally
The Buckeyes win a championship, Columbus goes up in flames. Ohio Machine wins a championship, no one bats an eyelash—in fact, we’re willing to bet a big chunk of the city doesn’t even know what the Machine is.
But finally, Columbus’ lacrosse team is getting the recognition it deserves.
USLacrosse Magazine noted the lack of attention our lacrosse teams get but added the dry spell may soon change.
“A magical Major League Lacrosse season for the Ohio Machine started with the opening of Fortess Obetz, the nation’s first professional lacrosse-focused stadium, and ended with a redeeming 17-12 win over the Denver Outlaws in the MLL championship game Aug. 19 in Frisco, Texas.”
The article also highlighted some of the achievements of the Ohio State University men’s lacrosse team this past season including their first Final Four appearance since 2001.
