Cbus innovation circles back for older generations
Everything is always moving ahead in Columbus—housing, technology, innovation—but what about the needs of our elder generations? Don’t worry, Baby Boomers and those from the Silent Generation, Columbus is circling back for you.
After two years of data collection, Columbus announced an ‘age-friendly’ plan that focuses on transportation and housing for seniors. WOUB reports the first step will be a renovation of mobility on the East Side with hopes of implementing a free circulator (it’s being piloted in Beechwold and Clintonville communities now). Buffing up housing infrastructure is also a key component so aging generations can stay comfortably in their homes for as long as possible.
Most of the funding for this project will be courtesy of grant monies.
