Housing above downtown pawn shop coming to fruition
An old building in downtown Columbus will be soon be topped off with new apartments.
The top two stories of Lev’s Pawn Shop at 220 East Main Street is slated to be renovated into industrial chic apartments according to Business First. These floors have been vacant for decades.
The owner of the pawn shop, Lev Kucherski, wants to accentuate the building’s bones by having lots of exposed elements.
Each of the 14 apartments would have its own balcony. The project would cost around $9,000.
The pawn shop would continue to operate on the first floor and be remodeled a bit.
