The latest on Corso Venture’s new Short North development

On the tail of announcing Food Hall, a rotating-kitchen concept, Corso Ventures is introducing its new, 5-story neighbor.

Located on the same block as Food Hall comes a 5-story structure housing new apartments and a new restaurant to serve the Short North. It’ll be located at 1081 N High St which used to be home to Little Dreamers Big Believers daycare and Yoga on High.

The four upper floors will be made into apartments–primarily one-bedrooms and studios. Tenants will have 146 options on the ground floor and in the basement to park their vehicles. The apartments will be supplemented with an upper level courtyard, as well.

But a new Asian-inspired restaurant will speak for the first floor.

It’ll be similar to its sister store, Forno, in the way that guests will be able to see the food prep but instead of pizza, it’ll be sushi. But sticky rice rolls are just a small dent in the otherwise broad menu.

“This is not going to be a full-on sushi joint, just as Forno isn’t a full-on Italian restaurant,” assured Reed Woogerd, Corso’s Director of Operations. “But we are fully committed to hiring the best talent and finding the best ingredients available to us.”

It’ll be a casual spot to pop in for a cocktail during Gallery Hop but also a great destination for a date night.

And like Corso’s other projects– Forno, Pint House, and Standard Hall–this project’s bar program will be strong.

“We’ll have legit sake offerings to round out the concept,” said Woogerd.

Overall, Corso Ventures is seeking to create a vibrancy with this development that’ll compliment Standard Hall and other local favorites in the neighborhood.

“As local guys, we want to give the neighborhood what it wants and needs as we develop concepts,” said Woogerd.
