26.2 or bust: Columbus Marathon road closures

It’s that time again for all the craziest people from all over the country to congregate in downtown Columbus and willingly run 26.2 miles and for the half crazy people to journey 13.1 miles by fast foot.

Yep, the Columbus Marathon and Half Marathon are taking place this Sunday. This is your warning to avoid downtown Columbus most of the day as the festivities take place.

During preparation, the following roads will be blocked off beginning Friday, according to ABC6:

• Long Street between Neil Avenue and Hocking Street (2 lanes only) will re-open from 6 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. for rush hour and then Long Street from Marconi to Hocking will close for the weekend at 9:30 a.m.
• Spring Street will be closed from West Street to Hocking Street at 11 p.m.
• Neil Avenue will be closed from Nationwide Boulevard to the combined Start/Finish Line at Long Street at 11 p.m.
