Food Rescue US Auctions Off Rare Bourbon Whiskey
Food Rescue US, and organization that endeavors to provide food for needy organizations, is auctioning off a rare bottle of O.F.C. Bourbon Whisky valued at $10,000.
Yes, you read that right — 10,000 dollars. For reference you can buy around 700-800 bottles of Old Crow Bourbon for that amount.
Buffalo Trace Distillery, who donated the bottle, says the special release honors National Historic Landmark’s original name – the O.F.C. Distillery. Christened in 1870, the most state-of-the-art distillery of its era featured copper fermentation vats, column stills, and a first-of-its-kind steam heating system, still used in their aging warehouses today.
All funds from the proceeds of this bottle will be used to further Food Rescue US’s mission. Food Rescue US directly transfers usable, fresh food that would otherwise be thrown away at restaurants or food facilities to food insecure families.
