Gear up for new mountain bike trail coming soon

Gear up, folks, a mountain bike track is coming to the Scioto Trail at Berliner Park.

Coming in at just over $188,000, the new single-track, 3-mile trail and course will replace a vacant industrial area along the Scioto River, reports The Dispatch. The trail component will consist of narrow passageways for riders to test their balance, as well as patches of rocky terrain and a few jumps. The project will also include a place for people to hold clinics.

Expect the new development to be completed by the end of 2018.

This will be the first unpaved mountain bike track inside the I-270 loop—something biking advocates around the city have been wanting for some time now.

The Dispatch reports that Hilliard’s Latham Park is also due for a new multi-use trail which has already gotten over $40,000 worth of funding.
