GFC returns with holiday movie series for the naughty & nice
The older we all get, the less enjoyable the holidays can be. With the constant hustle, the icy roads, the spending, and materialism of it all can be disheartening but these are the times we must tap into our inner child and get ourselves into the Christmas spirit the good ol’ fashioned way.
An obligatory box on the yuletide list is watching holiday classics and the Gateway Film Center is here to help us all out.
Whether you’ve been naughty or nice this year, GFC’s Holiday Classics movie series—kicking off this Friday—will be playing something for you.
This year’s schedule includes It’s a Wonderful Life, The Thin Man, and Lethal Weapon, all on 35mm film; GFC series premieres including Babes in Toyland, Little Women, and A Christmas Story; a sing-along version of White Christmas led by the incomparable Nina West glowing brighter than a Christmas tree; and an ultra-rare screening of Rare Exports in 35mm featuring the short film that inspired it. And new this year is Holiday Nightmares featuring the likes of Gremlins, Christmas Evil, and Silent Night, Deadly Night.
Enjoy the festive decor, holiday-themed snacks, and booze pairings from Great Lakes Brewing.
