Benefit hurricane victims with dinner at King Gyros

In wake of Hurricane Harvey, local business are still doing what they can to help with recovery, rescues, and cleanup efforts in Texas.

Last weekend, Watershed Distillery was accepting donations in their delivery truck. Turns out, Columbus is more generous than they thought. They ended up getting a bigger truck, and then a van, and then a semi to accommodate all the offerings. A couple of guys from Watershed are now en route to hand off the goods to Houston.

This weekend, King Gyros is stepping up.

On Sunday, September 10th, King Gyros Greek Restaurant will be serving up delicious gyros with all proceeds benefiting the hurricane victims in Huston.

The owner, Yianni Chalkias, along with his employees will be donating their time during the hours noon- 6pm to serve up a limited menu of gyros, fries, and ice tea. Chalkias, will also be matching the day’s sales, also.

All proceeds will go to the Houston Texas Food Bank.

I really wanted to help the people who have been affected by the hurricane in Texas,” said Yianni Chalkias, owner of King Gyros. “This is the best way we can donate our time and give to those who need it the most.
