New brewery en route to our neck of the woods

What better to put next to a police station than a brewery? The drunks can loosen up the cops and the cops can keep the drunks in line? Or something like that..

That’s what Powell has in mind with a brand new craft brewery and taproom likely to hit the town before long.

It’s called Nocterra Brewing Co. and is slated for 41 Depot Street where there used to be a furniture and decor store. A fire in the building forced the business to relocate so Nocterra’s plan involves a complete overhaul and a 1,350-square-foot addition, report This Week News.

The Powell planning commission likes the idea but they decided to hold off on giving it the green light until the Historical Commission can have a look at it.

The brewery’s proposed hours of operation are 3 to 10 p.m. weekdays, noon to 10 p.m. Saturday and noon to 8 p.m. Sunday.

There’s next to nothing on Nocterra’s website but if you’d like to check it out, click here.

This would be Powell’s second brewery after Ill Mannered.
