North Market getting mo’ delicious with Momo Ghar dumplings

Dumpling aficionados from Momo Ghar are rolling into the North Market in early September. They’ll be located in the space next to Lan Viet and across from Nida’s Sushi.

Once the 38th of the best 100 places to eat in the United States, Momo Ghar keeps the operation tight knit. It’s always been family owned and operated. The ball–or dough– began rolling in the Saraga International Market on Morse Road.

Momo Ghar is well-known for their handmade from scratch Himalayan dumplings, especially their MOMOs which are filled with meat and/or veggies.

“We are truly delighted to welcome Momo Ghar to our merchant community and to fill our only remaining vacant stall!” said Executive Director Rick Harrison Wolfe. “Showcasing the cultural and culinary diversity of Central Ohio is very important to our mission, no other restaurant has been praised more over the last year in this city, these folks truly are best in class.”

Momo Ghar will offer North Market goers:

  • Fresh side dishes like Baara
  • A Nepali cake made from lentil
  • A traditional dish from Kathmandu called Choila
  • black-eyed peas and crispy rice
  • milk tea

Momo Ghar’s lead lady, Phuntso, was originally born in Nepal, then moved to New York with her family in 1984. With her, she brought all of these amazing recipes that are now available to us at the restaurant today. She and her husband, also a Nepal native, strive to deliver fresh, truly from scratch food just like they made at home.
