Short North White Castle: Boozy Burger Joint?
Short North’s White Castle was special. So special I wrote a eulogy for it when it was unceremoniously demolished.
Well, we all knew that they’d be re-building a ground floor storefront for the 8-story mixed-use project, but what might be big news to some is that they’ve officially applied for a liquor license.
Ahhh, yes! Finally, the days of going to one bar, getting shitfaced and having to walk several blocks to a White Castle to pack your body full of belly bombs is finally over.
According to bizjournals, White Castle would be selling beer, wine and liquor until 2:30am. Which is insane.
This is the not the first time a restaurant in the area has expanded their offerings with the allure of booze, Donatos Pizzeria just rebuilt their Short North shop with the addition of the “Black Brick Bar.”
Chains are trying to fancy up their schtick to entice the beer guzzling patrons of the Short North.
White Castle has not responded to questions.
