Wendy’s Bringing Weird New Burgers & Sandwiches
What in life is better than fast food novelty/limited-time menu items? You’ve got the most famous one being the McRib — a strange slab of an ambiguously pork-like substance slathered in a brown, sugary BBQ sauce. It’s delicious and decadent — there are people that just anxiously wait each year for the McRib season to roll around. My favorite seasonal menu item? Well, Wendy’s our local national fast food chain announced some potential new limited-time only belly bombs at their annual investor day last Thursday.
A Sriracha Chicken Sandwich, A Mozzarella Chicken Sandwich and a Bacon Maple Chicken Sandwich
“Wendy’s is almost 50 years of age and is more popular than ever before,” Chief Marketing Officer Kurt Kane said during the meeting. “That’s a telling story.”
On top of innovating on the menu side of things — Wendy’s is investing $30 million to utilize better, smaller and tastier chickens.
Here are some of the ideas floating around at Wendy’s:
- Green Chile Queso burger
- Truffle Bacon Cheeseburger
- Bacon Portobello Swiss burger
- Fresh Mozzarella Chicken sandwich
- Bacon Maple Chicken sandwich on a croissant
- Fresh Mozzarella salad
