Candlelight Vigil for Obamacare Held by Ohio’s 12th Congressional District
On Wednesday, constituents of Ohio’s 12th Congressional District will hold a candlelight vigil on the eve of the vote by the U.S. House of Representatives to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act (ACA). Constituents have repeatedly asked Rep. Pat Tiberi to hold a town hall meeting and listen to their concerns about Republican plans to replace the ACA. Tiberi has refused to hold a public forum or attend a town hall organized by constituents.
The vote for the Republican replacement plan will have very real consequences for Rep. Tiberi’s constituents. This vigil is intended to show support for the ACA and the hundreds of thousands of Ohioans who could lose their health care coverage if the new Republican plan becomes law.
As residents of the 12th Congressional District, participants of the vigil will reflect on the harm that will be done if Rep. Tiberi votes to take away healthcare from so many of his constituents.
The event will be held on: Wednesday, March 22, 7pm at McNamara Park, 7049 Big Walnut Rd, Galena, OH 43021
