Delaware Might Ban Circus Animals

Delaware residents are standing firm in their opposition of exotic animals in circuses by effectively banning circuses from even coming to the city.

According to the Columbus Dispatch, the decision came after a petition of more than 1,000 signatures made claims against a Florida-Based circus company, Circus Pages, that would host a show on the Delaware County fairgrounds later this spring.

The city complied and first denied Circus Pages a permit, and then proposed legislation to deny permits from then on to circuses that host exotic animals within city limits.

This effectively bars traditional circuses from Delaware, making them the first city in Ohio to do so.
