Usually after an election, a political party’s coffers will be at their lowest point. Jane Timken, newly announced chairwoman of the Ohio Republican Party, says the state GOP is in dire need of money after last year’s election cycle.
In an email to her party members today, according to the Columbus Dispatch, “Our first objective is to develop a finance plan to ensure that we right the ship and are well funded into the future.”
While Timken did not go into details, some party members have expressed concern that there’s not even enough money to cover payroll.
Timken will be launching a third-party financial review of the party’s books which will both a “will be both a short-term and a long-term endeavor.”
