According to a report out of the San Francisco Chronicle, Kasich really is not a fan of the term, “Rust Belt.”
“We’re a big manufacturing state. But we also want to change the image of Ohio into something from the Rust Belt to the Knowledge Belt,” Kasich said during an Associated Press forum this month. “Now, this is hard.”
Kasich has been a vocal proponent for Columbus going “smart” including a good portion of his state budget including language for developing, and fostering the growth of smart technology — specifically smart roads.
The term has been used by everyone, including current President Donald Trump who called Ohio and Pennsylvania places where “everything is rusting and rotting.”
