National gas prices slated to rise
After President Trump ordered air strikes on Syria yesterday, oil prices have jumped 2 percent in the U.S. This is because Syria is near the Strait of Hormuz, a major player in shipping oil.
Ramifications of oil inflation may not rear their ugly heads at the pump for several weeks. Today in Columbus, we are experiencing an average price of $2.46 per gallon of gas which is seven cents more than the national average.
Below is a graph of average gas prices in Ohio and another of averages in the U.S. Much like a visual representation of our temperature fluctuation would look like, the slope of Ohio averages is jagged as hell compared to national averages. But taking a closer look, Ohio prices have been lower than national averages during most of the past month, save the last few days.
Stay with us for updates as prices at the pump continue to fluctuate.
