Ben Carson, the Secretary of Housing and Urban Development, paid Columbus a visit last week to get a feel for low-income housing in the area. He swung by Columbus Choice Neighborhood which his agency helped fund. He also stopped by residential apartments and senior housing.
To some, this grassroots gesture was reassuring because it showed that Carson not only uses research and data to make decision, but personal antic0dotes from people who will be affected.
To others, they felt they were being used as props for a publicity campaign. Visit The New York Times for quotes from your fellow Columbus residents on Carson’s visit.
