Franklin County woman fails in assisting Shawshank style flee
A Franklin County woman has been charged after helping a SEPTA Correctional Facility escapee elude authorities Tuesday evening. Jamie Victoria Jarrett, 38, was the driver of a vehicle carrying former SEPTA Correctional Facility inmate Troy Brandon Tyler Byrd, 29.
The two were cruising down London Rd at around 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday when they were spotted. Jarrett refused to throw in the towel even after authorities demanded she pull over. The charade was cut short, though, when Jarrett ran over tire-deflating devices.
She is charged with obstructing justice and failure to comply with a police order.
Byrd was one of three individuals to escape from the correctional facility in Nelsonville over the weekend. Byrd was able to dodge police a bit longer than the other two as they were both apprehended by Monday.
