Hamilton schools superintendent by day, crack enthusiast by night

The superintendent of Hamilton Local Schools has been placed on administrative leave after being found with a crack pipe and a rock of crack cocaine.

The Dispatch reports that William J. Morrison III was spotted by bike cops in the Hilltop neighborhood on Friday. He was in his parked car in an alley near Sullivant Avenue and South Hague Avenue and upon searching his vehicle, police found the pipe and crack.

Morrison took a plea deal and was sentenced to 180 days in jail with 176 of them suspended, and a year of probation.

Mark Tyler, the school’s assistant superintendent was appointed the interim superintendent.

The Hamilton Local Schools Board of Education released the following statement:

“We address these matters swiftly and directly, and we will take final action once the legal system has made a determination on the charges facing Mr. Morrison. State law affords him the right to due process, which is why we have placed him on administrative leave at this time.”
