Police to closely monitor traffic from above in new operation

The Ohio State Highway Patrol is partnering with local police forces to watch drivers from the sky via airplane. The new operation has been dubbed “TRIADD”, or Targeting Reckless Intimidating Aggressive Distracted Drivers. It aims to crack down on the worst traffic offenders that are speeding excessively, tailgating and making dangerous lane violations.

The program will coordinate air patrols and police on the ground to pull over drivers. Although air patrols happen year around, the intensive “Operation TRIADD” will be only be during the month of April.
