Attorney for Heather Campbell’s father requests internal CPD investigation
A formal request has been made that the CPD conduct an internal investigation of their protocols in wake of Heather Campbell’s death.
An attorney for Campbell’s father was the one to make the request. Her father feels the officers called to the apartment complex when gunshots were reported could’ve done more than simply knock on the door and leave when it went unanswered. He wants to see policies changed so that inadequate responses can be prevented in the future, reports NBC4i.
Twenty-four hours before Campbell and her boyfriend Kyle Lafferty’s bodies were found, police responded to a report of gunshots coming from the apartment. The two officers knocked on Campbell’s door but no one answered. They said the gunshots were probably sounds from a television and then left.
