60-Year-Old Man Arrested for Grandview’s Bomb Threat Bank Robbery

Update: The City of Grandview Heights Division of Police announced today that the man accused of robbing a PNC Bank on 1st Ave. last month has been arrested.

60-year-old karl Schlenker is a resident of Cranford, New Jersey and he was arrested this morning at his home.

He is likely to face an extradition hearing so he can be brought back to face charges here in Franklin County.

Update 4:15pm: Officials have confirmed the package was not a bomb and will soon open the streets and sidewalks for children to use to get home.

A bomb squad is currently at the scene of the PNC Bank on West 1st Avenue in Grandview.

Police say there is an active bomb threat after an attempted robbery that happened at around 1 p.m, according to 10tv.

Police told 10tv the suspect is a white male walked into the bank, demanded money and threatened a bomb. He then walked out of the bank, leaving a bag behind.

All homes in the area are being evacuated. No other details have been reported.
