Donezo: Short North Parlor Room
Start scouting out a new swanky cocktail bar because The Short North Parlor Room has officially closed and is going to the highest bidder. After all the commotion about it elbowing out Surly Girl and being taken over by the owner of the popular Arena District bar Novak’s, they’ve decided to cease speakeasy’ing. They operated for less than eleven months.
As of last night or early this morning (there is no time stamp), a notice has been posted on the Parlor Room’s website home page saying,
“In preparation of a pending sale, Short North Parlor Room is currently closed. We are thankful and humbled for our amazing staff and our loyal customers who have supported us. We hope to have the opportunity to continue serving everyone at our other locations, as well as future locations.”
The 2,500 sq ft property at 1126 N High St. has been posted on bizbuysell.com and bizquest.com at an asking price of $249,000. The reason for selling stated on the page is,
“The owners have other business interests.”
Columbus Tavern Group which ran the Parlor Room also operates Novak’s, The Filling Station in Powell, and Yogi’s in Dublin.
