Efforts continue to empower women in honor of Reagan Tokes
Efforts to educate women on self-defense continue months after the Reagan Tokes murder case. Martial Arts expert Carly Hensley told 10tv that people walking alone at night in the dark are major targets for criminals.
She doesn’t want women to feel helpless in any situation. Hensley along with the Ohio Restaurant Association will be hosing a self-defense class Thursday night in honor of Tokes. The class will be held from 4- 6pm at the High Line Car House. Admission is free.
“We’ll practice how to get out of a hold if someone comes and grabs you from the front if someone were to come behind you and get you in a bear hug or a head lock from the back,” Hensley said to 10tv.
Columbus City Councilwoman Elizabeth Brown will be the special guest.
