A whiff of smoke was all it took one passerby to jump into action and save a woman’s life.
Early this morning, a fire broke out in Karen Watts’ apartment on West Broad Street. Before firefighters could arrive, Antwan Cotton, who was driving by the area, pulled over to see if anyone needed help, reports ABC6. Sure enough, Watts was trapped in her bedroom with a broken arm.
Cotton found Watts and was able to break a window and pull her to safety.
Her hug was her thank you. “He saved my life,” Karen Watts told me. Antwan Cotton broke a window to pull her from her burning apartment. Fire started in unit below. Cause unknown. pic.twitter.com/NN51nW5GnZ
