Firefighter Hospitalized in Basement Fire

A routine basement fire near Sullivant Avenue has ended with a firefighter in the Hospital. Early Monday morning, emergency crews were called to S. Hague avenue after the report of a fire.
During the ensuing battle, one of the firefighters succumbed to debilitating smoke inhalation and was taken to the OSU Wexner Medical Center.
A family of three was inside but was able to get out safely, and is now in the care of The Red Cross.
According to a spokesperson for the Fire Department, the firefighter is in stable condition but there is no reports on what caused the fire.
