Get a piercing, give a needle

Two local companies in the business of needles are teaming up to help prevent blood borne illnesses in Central Ohio.

Piercology, a local body piercing studio, will be donating $2 from every piercing service this summer directly to SafePoint, a program through Equitas Health which operates a needle exchange. While controversial, SafePoint sees it necessary to give addicts access to clean syringes so that the spread of HIV, Hep C and other blood transmitted diseases can be diminished.

The needle exchange is just one service SafePoint provides that works to make the drug using community healthier.

As a responsible needle-using business with concern about the ramping opioid epidemic, Piercology supports the cause and wants to do their part.

So in turn, you as a customer become a needle exchange advocate.

Will you be scheduling a piercing anytime soon?
