Get out from under back taxes during amnesty period

Tax season is universally loathed but is an unfortunate part of every law abiding citizens’ life. Oh, you thought you could just slide under the radar and not pay your taxes? Tisk, tisk, it doesn’t work that way.

But now is your time to come clean, grab those back taxes that have been hanging over your head, and deal with them. The Ohio Department of Taxation is even throwing you a bone.

From January 1 to February 15, you can pay your delinquencies in full with half the normal interest.

This six-week amnesty period applies only to back taxes that were due before May 1, 2017, and are currently unknown to the department, reports ABC6.

Go on, take advantage of the interest break and ditch the weight of delinquent taxes.
