Golfer Jason Day walks off golf course to be with his sick mother

Unfortunately pro golfer Jason Day, is no stranger to the malice of lung cancer. At 12, he lost his father to the disease, and now his mother has recently been diagnosed. The Australian, who now lives in Columbus, was down three strokes in his opening match against Pat Perez when he conceded.

The defending champion told BBC that, “emotionally it’s been wearing on me for a while and I know my mum says not to let it get to me but it really has, so I just need some time away with her to make sure that everything goes well because this has been very, very tough for me.”
