Try not to sniffle, cough and cry – this year’s allergy season has started earlier and may last longer than usual.
A mild winter and warm temperatures in early spring are to blame allergy season starting sooner than usual. Doctors are seeing an increasing number of allergy related patients, and the higher-than-normal pollen counts are contributing to a strong allergy season that will stick around for a while.
In addition to allergy medications, doctors recommend keeping the windows closed and the AC on to reduce pollen exposure. Some also recommend taking a shower to wash off any excess pollen after you’ve been outside.
