Local woman recalls being in crowd during Vegas shooting
A woman from Columbus was in Vegas with a friend over the weekend to attend the Route 91 Harvest Festival. Little did they know the evening of fun and live music would take a deadly turn.
Robin Lewis, 27, had just stepped away from her friend to use the restroom when she heard gunshots, reports 10tv per WCOL. At first she thought it was fireworks but as soon as Jason Aldean ran off the stage, she and everyone else in the crowd knew it was something much worse.
“It didn’t matter where you were standing, people were getting hit everywhere,” she told WCOL.
Lewis exited the venue and reconnected with her friend. She said people were hiding and ducking everywhere to avoid being shot. Between rounds is when people would sprint towards safety.
Lewis and her friend are unsure if/when they will be able to get a flight out of Vegas.
