Medical marijuana cultivators to face financially restrictive fees

Ohio’s rules for medical cannabis are now finalized – for better or for worse.
The new law will restrict medical cannabis prescriptions to only 21 medical conditions, including HIV/AIDS, epilepsy, cancer and Alzheimer’s disease. The new law also doesn’t allow smoking.
Potential cultivators will also have to pay large application and license fees, ranging from $20 thousand dollars for small growers, and up to $200 thousand for large growers. Growers must also find banks and insurers who wont mind working with weed – a trade many companies have avoided since cannabis is still illegal on a federal level.
