Ohio One of the Worst in Country for Racial Progress Study Finds
In a new study by Wallethub, Analysts have found that Ohio is #43 in both Racial Integration and Racial Progress, ranking in the bottom 50 for the entire United States.
The findings by Wallethub’s Analysts compared 50 states and the District of Columbia across three dimensions:
- Employment & Wealth
- Education & Civic Engagement
- Health
“This analysis compares only blacks and whites in light of racial tensions in recent years that sparked the Black Lives Matter movement and the observance of the holiday honoring Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., who played a prominent role in the Civil Rights Movement to end segregation and discrimination against blacks.” They write in their summary.
For racial integration, the states making up the bottom 10 consist of 8 Mid-Western States, while the bottom 10 for Racial Progress were more diverse in their geographic locations.
