Though Capital University thinks guns on campus would make students less safe, concealed carry supports in the student Senate are speaking up.
After the groping outside the campus library last week, some students say they would feel a lot safer with a gun. Female students have been especially vocal.
The bill to allowed concealed carry on campus was passed by the student Senate earlier this week but vetoed by the student president, reports NBC4i. A spokeswoman told the news station that the university will hear the opinions of students but does not intend to change their no weapons policy.
The man charged with the groping is a serial offender and tied to similar incidents on Ohio State’s campus.
