Will your precious iPhone be damaged in eclipse?

The eclipse didn’t really happen unless you document the whole thing on Facebook live stream, right? But the sun’s rays are powerful, even when covered by the moon 80 percent so the real question is…Can you phone take it?

The only people we trust to give us a straight answer is NASA and they say “Yes, probably.”

If you’ve got an older iPhone or Android, you phone can take the heat.

However, if you’ve got a newer smartphone, your advance camera may work against you. The larger, faster lens may not be able to support the eclipse and be damaged.

Either way, you can probably get away with one or two snaps but avoid pointing your camera directly at the sun for great lengths or your camera could reach unrepairable state.

Visit NBC4i for tips on how to get the best shot of the phenomenon.
