Schottenstein-topia going up near downtown

The Schottensteins are building a 23-acre kingdom near downtown in one of the few undeveloped parcels in the city.

Identical to pretty much every other development in queue here in Columbus, the project will be mixed-use; part hotel, part restaurant, part grocery store, part conference center, and part retail, reports Columbus Business First. There will be a 10- 12 story condo towner plus a 12-15 story apartment tower. What about parking? Reportedly, there will be “plenty.”

Schottenstein Real Estate Group plans to break ground just northwest of Huntington Park, adjacent to the Arena District. In all of its glory, it’ll be called Grand Central.

No word yet on a budget or timeline.
