Nationwide Issues Security Alert After Armed Robbery
For the second time in two weeks, Nationwide issued a security alert due to an on-campus robbery.
This time, a staff member was walking to the hospital from her parking spot on Mooberry and Carpenter St. where a man showed a gun and took her purse.
The woman was not harmed but the man fled on foot and police could not locate him, according to Fox28. Nationwide Security Director Dan Yaross believes that this is the same man that initiated the first robbery January 27th.
The man’s description was reported as 6′ tall, wearing black pants, a black hoodie, and a white mask or scarf pulled over his face. Both robberies happened around 5 or 6 am.
Nationwide has ramped up security with around the clock patrol, but in the mean time, they warn staff, patients, and visitors:
- If you park in a surface lot that provides shuttle service, please wait in your vehicle until the shuttle arrives (shuttle drivers are also instructed to wait until employees are in their cars before leaving a lot).
- If you park in an area without shuttle service, please consider calling ahead so security can meet you in the lot. Call 614-722-2128.
