Baby killed in house fire

An infant under the watch of a babysitter died in a house fire last night. It happened on the east side on the 700 block of South Waverly St.

Firefighters were able to rescue the 61-year-old babysitter. They went back in for the infant. Medics pronounced the baby girl dead at the scene.

The cause of fire is still under investigation.
