Big ol’ check slated for Columbus airport to cover name change
Columbus’ airport is about to get a big “Thank you” check for changing its name to honor Ohio legend, John Glenn. John Glenn Columbus International Airport is up for $455,000 to cover the expenses of renaming it from Port Columbus International airport last year.
The “Thank you” will be addressed from the Ohio Department of Transportation as part of the Ohio Senate’s suggested two-year state budget plan.
Last year, the airport received an $80 million renovation and is expected to get another $1 billion fluff soon. The new plan includes a new terminal complex.
