The successor of legendary coach Woody Hayes got some sad news from his doctors. Former Buckeye coach Earle Bruce has been diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimer’s disease according to 10tv per his family.
The Bruce family has been dealt a very tough time by the disease; Earle’s wife and father passed away from the disease and his two sister also suffer from Alzheimer’s.
Before Earle’s wife, Jean, passed away in 2011, they spearheaded the Earle and Jean Bruce Foundation for Alzheimer’s Research in memory of Earle’s father.
Along with being an advocate for the disease, he’s always been a huge catalyst for the Buckeyes, even dotting the “i” in 2016.
